Clippers for Hair

!±8± Clippers for Hair

Perhaps you are a professional hair stylist or barber, and need a new pair of clippers. Or, maybe you do your own hair, or your son's hair. As with anything on the market, there are professional models and every day models available. You just have to decide which you want.

Why Do You Want New Clippers

Do-it-yourselfers will have different requirements for their equipment than professionals. The do-it-yourselfer will use his clippers maybe once a month, as opposed to all day, 5 or 6 days a week. Salon strength hair clippers have more amps, which makes them more powerful-and also more expensive. They won't bog down when they get hot. This will make cutting hair easier, if you do several heads of hair a day. If not, a simple, inexpensive set will do.

Size Matters

Do you have small hands? Or maybe you have basketball player hands. Either way, you'll want to consider the size and weight of the clippers you buy. Again, if it's just for home use, it probably won't matter. But if you are cutting hair all day every day, the weight, size, and shape of your clippers will make or break your day. Look at the different shapes of clippers and consider the different angles you'll be holding your arms as you work. Consider the weight, and remember that while amps mean power, they also mean weight. Find the lightest clippers you can, balanced with the power you need.

Cord or Cordless

As a professional, you may find that the cordless clippers are not strong enough to last the day. While they would be extremely convenient, you would have to have several pair to get through all the heads of hair you'll face. It won't hurt, however, to have a pair as a standby. For an individual, they will come in handy in those bathrooms with too few outlets.

Accessories

Some professional stylists use the same comb guide with each cut, adjusting the length of hair on their own. Others use different size comb guides for each length of hair. Whatever accessories you use, remember to get a cleaning brush and clipper oil to maintain your Clippers For Hair.

Durability

When you only use your clippers once a month or so, it's really frustrating to pull them out of the drawer and find that they won't work. Often, it seems that you've hardly gotten your money's worth out of them. As a stylist, if you don't invest in a quality pair to begin with, you'll find yourself buying another cheap pair every month or so. Check out the brands. What do other stylists use? What other hair styling equipment do you use with the same brand? You may find that the clippers that are the same brand as your hair dryer and curling irons is equally high quality.

Regardless of the intensity with which you'll be using your clippers, be sure to get a brand that suits your needs. A cheap, poorly made pair will do you no good at all.

Wahl Senior Premium Hair Clipper: This clipper is designed to be light weight, which results in less strain on your wrists. The Senior Premium Clipper / Trimmer is equipped with a quiet, cool running V5000 motor makes it very powerful, being able to glide through even the most course hair, while cutting with precision resulting in an even, accurate hair cut.

Wahl Professional Super Taper II Hair Clipper: This is a powerful clipper with a taper lever that adjusts the taper and texture of your cut without changing the blades. It also comes with heavy duty casing that will allow this kit to last for years!

A little tip to prolong the life of your clipper / trimmer is to make certain that you oil and clean the blades after each use.

Tecumseh - An Indian Tribe's "Uncommon Genius"

!±8± Tecumseh - An Indian Tribe's "Uncommon Genius"

In the late 18th and early 19th centuries American settlers pushed westward across the Appalachian Mountains. The Indians were forced to give up large areas of their land. Tecumseh, son of a Shawnee chief, believed that if he could form a great union of Indian tribes the settlers could be stopped.

Tecumseh was born about 1768 near what is now Springfield. Ohio. As a young man he fought bravely in border disputes against white settlers. He and his brother, known as the Prophet, grew up hating white men and fearing their influence on ancient Indian culture. Tecumseh and his brother urged their people to honor the ways of their fathers and reject the advances of a new civilization.

During this period William Henry Harrison, then governor of the Indiana Territory, arranged a series of treaties with some of the Indian chiefs. These treaties provided for United States control of large areas of land. Tecumseh believed that the land belonged to all the Indians and could be ceded only if all the tribes agreed.

In a gigantic effort to stem the tide of the white man's advances, Tecumseh tried to form a vast union of tribes from Florida to the Great Lakes. He traveled many miles wining supporters. While he was on one of his trips, news reached him that the Prophet had been drawn into a conflict with Harrison in Indiana. The battle of Tippecanoe brought defeat to the Indians and an end to Tecumseh's great plan.

Still hoping to check the advance, Tecumseh and his followers joined the British in Canada in the War of 1812 against the Americans. He was given the rank of brigadier general. In a general's uniform he led his troops against the Americans. Again and again the Indians and the British were forced to retreat. On October 5, 1813, at the battle of the Thames near Chatham Ontario, Tecumseh made his last stand. Before leading his men into combat, the brave warrior once again donned the battle dress of his tribe. The Americans, under Harrison, defeated the British, and Tecumseh was killed in the fighting.

Tecumseh was a brilliant and humane leader. At a time when white men lived in dread of Indian savagery, Tecumseh insisted on merciful treatment of captives. Americans respected his wisdom and honesty. Even his old enemy Harrison called him an "uncommon genius."
